Crew Planning is responsible for the planning of all flying personnel at SAS Scandinavia, which includes 1500 pilots and 3500 cabin crew. The planning process comprises manpower planning, pairing and rostering optimization (scheduling), roster maintenance and crew control. Crew Planning is also responsible for crew training planning. SAS is looking for individuals who are keen to develop the planning strategy for pilots and cabin crew within our department for planning and workforce management. We now offer you the opportunity to become part of SAS Crew Planning where we now are looking for candidates to Crew Optimization. You will have a key role in contributing to cost-efficiency and productivity, committed employees and thus to SAS's long-term profitability. The complex environment of aviation means that you will acquire unique competences and skills to become a specialist in your role. Depending on your ambition and interest, there are multiple opportunities to specialize further, e.g. the possibility to immerse yourself in analysis and optimization or to become a pioneer in LEAN at SAS. Or why not both? As a Crew Optimization Specialist, you will, through optimization and manual work, make monthly schedules for pilots or cabin crew. The work demands that you handle large amounts of information, analyze scenarios and choose solutions that are best in all aspects. You will be a key player in the work development and continuous journey towards Crew Planning's vision. Some of the main areas of responsibility Monthly pairing and rostering for a cabin crew or pilot group, which entails optimization and subsequent analysis of scenarios with respect to total crew cost and crew bid fulfillment Find the optimal trade off on productivity, cost, robustness and quality through analysis and engage in problem solving throughout the entire planning process Participate in traffic program design and forecasting in the "Plan-to-execution" process Contribute in fatigue safety forums and work proactively to mitigate fatigue risk in crew schedules. Extensive collaboration with stakeholders within SAS Group Operations and with Network Planning, among others. We place great importance to your personal qualities and are looking for someone who wants to develop and advance within Crew Planning. We believe you have an academic background with relevance to the position, preferably in logistics, IT, finance or equivalent and that you are in the beginning of your career. You are structured and meticulous, and you are a good networker. If you are also ambitious and driven, we believe Crew Planning will be a perfect fit for your next step. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and particularly Excel is required, and you must have good general IT literacy. You will need to be proficient in communication (written and spoken) for both English and one of the Scandinavian languages. This position includes great opportunities and exciting challenges.
