About this role:
The purpose of the role is to drive innovation around satellite data and lead global sales growth of our new geospatial and telecommunications powered Data and Services business line. The role will involve essential travel on occasions to attend events, conferences and building relationships with customers. We are open to hybrid working for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic planning for business development and sales (short and long term) * Securing financial targets and KPIs
• Plan and enable the productivity of the dept. resource with appropriate structure, skills and capability to meet current and planned business needs * Pro-actively engage and communicate across the business to enable all parts of the AAC Clyde Space Group to achieve success
• Lead the improvement and delivery of the data sales, licensing and bid processes through effective management and operations of the team * Responsible for the team's staffing decisions and development through the employment lifecycle * Provide internal support in the areas of strategy, analysis, and best practices to other senior managers and directors
• Contribute to the development of accurate and complete opportunity forecasting to the wider AAC Clyde Space group for this business unit
• Drive lessons learned initiatives to continually improve pursuit strategies * Support the wider team/company as required - with a specialism in geospatial data and services, user needs and solutions.
• Identify and develop target customers and sales opportunities, including the generation of new data or service propositions either directly or with strategic partners
• Translate market intelligence, customer feedback and identified user needs into clear, tailored value propositions and/or technical specifications for current and future Data and Services
• Capture customer requirements, consider current AAC Clyde Space geospatial data/service capabilities, and identify where development is needed from technical teams * Work with the marketing team to drive lead generation, contributing to the development of marketing campaigns and materials for the team and the wider AAC Clyde Space Group.
• Identify and attend appropriate conferences, industry events, and customer visits Skills required:
• Good understanding of space data markets, especially in the geospatial domain * Evidence of commercial awareness and networking * Ability to lead, coach and develop others * Strong communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
• Successful track record of engaging and influencing customers
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborate within a multicultural and international team located across several different countries
• Leads others to identify challenges and works towards finding solutions * Ability to make good decisions within a highly demanding and dynamic environment
• Ability to self-organise and prioritise workload with multiple projects in dynamic environment with tight deadlines
• Competent IT skills including Microsoft software
• Proficient in English, both verbally and written Skills desired:
• Relevant degree or equivalent work experience with a strong preference for qualification and experience with geospatial data and services
• Passionate about the space industry
• Previous experience of preparing proposals and winning proposals in a commercial industry
• Demonstrates customers receive excellent level of service
• Relevant space industry experience * Previous experience in working with small/medium sized company
