The Volvo Group Technology plan outlines an inspiring but challenging future ahead of us. There are a number of clear technology trends that will drastically impact the architecture of our trucks in the coming decade. We are now looking for three driven Vehicle Architects who are eager to really impact the technical evolution of our vehicles in exciting and challenging roles.
Vehicle Geometry Architecture is a function within Vehicle Engineering with the responsibility to lead and secure the complete vehicle architecture for heavy duty trucks COE. Our main tasks span from long term architecture strategies to detailed integration work in running projects and can be categorized as follows:
1.Architecture, annual work: Continuous responsibility to develop, define and maintain the vehicle architecture including cross functional strategy alignment.
2.Architecture, Pre-PCI: Project pre-studies including analysis of main technical alternatives and balancing of requirements to prepare project start.
3.Integration: Responsibility to lead, balance and execute the cross functional mechanical integration work in vehicle projects.
In order to strengthen our activity in Gothenburg, we are now looking for three Vehicle Architects. These are senior roles with a strategic focus and the emphasis of your work will be connected to architectural tasks under point 1 and 2 but you will also be involved in the integration work in projects through a close cooperation with the geometrical architects in the team. You will work on complete vehicle level but with focus and responsibility for one of the following three vehicle areas:
• Cab and Vehicle front end
• Powertrain installation and Front suspension
• Wheel base, Rear axle and Rear over hang
As a Vehicle Architect, you will be overall responsible for the architecture within the given sub-area of the vehicle. You will deep dive into all cross functional roadmaps, product plans, demands, regulations and constraints that impact the complete vehicle. With this as a foundation, you will perform architectural studies in collaboration with your network and develop the architectural roadmap for our future trucks

Competence Profile:
• Extensive vehicle knowledge including the product defining requirements and relations with emphasis on the sub area of your responsibility
• Extensive truck architecture knowledge
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Analytical and structured
• Master of Science or equivalent experience and knowledge
