TASKS
As a Principle Front End Engineer, you will be a leading engineer in a cross-discipline DevOps team, where you and your team members will take ownership of a segment of our product. You will act as an authority on front- end development in your team driving the development there as well as being part of the cross-team working on joint projects and help to continually evolving front end development. You will actively coordinate work with other teams when need be.
The work will mainly be performed on site in the Stockholm office, but some travel may be involved. Working remotely from time to time is widely accepted once you are established as a contributor and know the underlying architecture and MO for the team.
As a front-end developer with a good eye for design you always pay attention to the user experience (UX) of the product. Although you are probably comfortable working in several languages, you have excellent knowledge of modern JavaScript programming concepts and a good understanding of system design. You quickly and easily pick up new languages and frameworks and are happy switching between technologies and thrive in developing well tested, modular, and maintainable code. Engagement and drive are more important than years of experience!
You will:
• You will work in close collaboration with Product owners, UI/UX designers and back-end engineers to design and build beautiful, snappy and usable UIs.
• You will actively coordinate work with other teams.
• Share ownership and collaborate closely with fellow engineers in an autonomous, cross- functional full-stack team.
• Coach your fellow team members to grow as engineers through code review, pairing, and mentoring.
• Participate in the design and implementation of the joint JavaScript infrastructure and resources that are core for all our UI development.
• Take an active part in research and selection of future tools and frameworks to make up INVIDI's UI infrastructure.
• INVIDI in Stockholm does not have formal architects; the teams are responsible for making their own architectural decisions, but as a senior developer you are very much expected to actively participate in architectural decisions.
• As a part of DevOps, you will be on-call for the services that the team owns. You are on-call for one week, approximately once per month. While on-call you are required to be reachable by telephone and able to act upon alarm, using your laptop.
TECH STACK
The tech stack evolves continuously by the team. The tech stack right now is: Typescript, vite, Vue.js, React.js, Node.js, GraphQL, micro services, docker, DevOps (AWS, Kubernetes, GCP), Auth0, Oauth2, Datadog for Application monitoring
YOUR PROFILE
We like to work with great engineers who are skillful but always open to learn new things, and who value working in a team to achieve a common goal. We would like you to have amazing communication and organizational skills.
• Fluency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6) and Standards Compliant Development.
• Working knowledge in XML, JSON, Bootstrap, and SQL.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics & tracking software.
• Strong knowledge of responsive design and cross browser/platform compatibility.
• Working experience with client-side JS frameworks like React.
• You have experience with modern JavaScript workflow tools (e.g., NPM, ESLint, Webpack).
• You have amazing communication and organizational skills.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related area.
• 6+ years of combined, relevant experience.
• Knowledge of REST APls and how to interface with them.
• Experience with universal JavaScript and server-side rendering.
