KGH Customs Services is the leading customs services provider in Europe.
Our expertise and wide range of customs and trade services help our customers to predictive and fast flows of goods. In 2020 we joined forces with Maersk and we are closely working together to establishing a joint digital operating model.
A qualified Customs and Trade Consultant assists our clients to reform their operations and support their business by providing intuitive guidance. Acts as an important ally to every client who wants to invest in change and improvement and needs help as to where and how. Able to undertake projects on behalf of the client's business when it lacks resources or motive to perform them in-house.
The right candidate can work from either of our consulting teams in Sweden, Germany, or the UK.

A Customs Consultant has first and foremost a broad knowledge of the many facets of international trade and the global flow of goods, which would allow and secure solid client advice in their field of expertise. The Customs and Trade Consultant also possesses great problem-solving skills to provide solutions and recommendations that will increase profitability and efficiency.
The goal is to contribute to the clients' long-lasting success to expand our reputation along with our clientele.
Key responsibilities
- Organize and execute assigned business projects on behalf of clients, according to client's defined requirements.
- Actively involve expertise of others where needed.
- Expected to set out own direction and work against set targets.
- Handles/plans own part of project together with delivery leader in large projects.
- Meet with assigned clients when needed and perform an initial assessment of a problematic situation.
- Collect information about the client's business needs through a variety of methods (shadowing, interviews, surveys, reading reports etc.).
- Analyze and interpret data to unearth weaknesses and problems and comprehend the causes.
- Formulate recommendations and solutions with attention to client's needs, capabilities and limitations forming concise reports.
- Present findings and suggestions to clients with ample justification and practical advice.
- Develop detailed business plans to drive small or radical changes.
- Assist the client in implementing the plan and resolve any occasional discrepancies.
- Provide guidance of any occurring problems and issues.
- Provide support and guidance in various related questions that may occur
We are looking for
Candidates with different background are of interest, and we expect you to match several of below criteria. - University degree in finance, law, international trade or engineering and/or
- Thorough practical experience from operational customs handling, in combination with customs trainings
- An edge in one or several fields of Classification, Valuation, Origin, Permits, Import/Export requirements
- Experience and knowledge of requirements from Other Governmental Authorities (e.g. food regulation)
- Proficient communication in English. Additional language is a plus.
- Legal research and documentation skills
- Additional skills of e.g. teaching, sales, data processing, leadership etc are highly relevant
