Test Automation Lead

You will be responsible for testing the products before they are launched, ensuring that we deliver highest quality of products to both our customers, partners, and internal users. We are using the Salesforce platform as a foundation for some of our products. In the future, we plan to build products possibly using other platforms and development tools.

The team is primarily located in Gothenburg, Stockholm Sweden, and we also have teams in the San Francisco US and in Shanghai China. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Ericsson, Microsoft, Tradera, Klarna, EA Games etc.

You and Your Skills
We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Lead who has previously worked in agile product teams and led a team of Test Developers (SDETs - Software Development Engineers in Test) working within the same product team or across product teams. You are experienced in designing and developing test automation frameworks and automated tests. You are a leader, motivating and encouraging all team mates to drive a quality mindset.

You probably have a degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. You have a passion for quality and appreciate that QA is much more than testing.

What will you do?
You will work with the team to develop and deliver automated tests across Product teams.
You will be working to establish test development practices, working closely with platform and CI/CD team to streamline deployment.
You take a bigger role for overall quality of the product, both functional and non-functional requirements like performance and security.
Develop tools and libraries which can be used by other automation/devOps engineers.
In collaboration with the agile teams set the guidelines and requirements on the test practices in the development process.
Building a path for successful cooperation between engineers of different levels.
Controlling and managing difficulties that arise in different projects during test automation related activities.
Take on leadership responsibilities and influence the direction of the automation effort, and its schedule and prioritization.
Provide technical leadership, direction, strategy and hands-on assistance to other members of the team.
Identify the scope of the testing required for a particular release.
Release plan for each release visible for everyone.
Mentors other QA team members in test automation best practices and adherence to overall testing strategy.
Drive greater automation test coverage throughout the product including GUI, API layers, services and database driven scripts.
Identifies metrics for monitoring increased performance and scalability.
Provides guidance for performance test initiatives that take a true end-to-end focus on ensuring client side, server tiers, database and data integration jobs are performing as expected.
Troubleshoots performance, load, and stress testing through analysis of system design/coding.
Ready to jump into different teams when needed.

Here's what we are looking for:
You have a solid understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle and processes.
You have a strong exposure to various test frameworks Selenium, Webdriverio, Cypress, Protractor, TestNG, API testing, Contract testing
You have good programming skills in any one of the languages (Javascript, typescript, java, python, C#, Go, Scala) and a good understanding of Object Oriented

Programming
You have hands on knowledge with containerization, release management & pipeline management.
You will examine end-to-end processes in addition to backend testing, ensuring quality is embedded throughout.
You have experience with Agile, code management and deployment strategies.
Experience working on low-code platforms like Salesforce is a plus
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions, deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
A good team player and communication skills.

Location: Stockholm or Gothenburg
