What you will do
The Technology Manager ConX eART Solution Integration and Release plays a key leadership role in overseeing the product development lifecycle for the ConX Software Factory from a strategic and technical perspective. With delegated product ownership across multiple clusters, the Technology Manager is responsible for developing and executing technology strategies, aligning product roadmaps with business objectives, and managing cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality, performance, and cost-efficiency. The ConX Software Factory covers the CICD for whole ConX software development with the focus on the developers experience, the implimentation of the Way of Working, following Governance guidelines and a wide range test environment embedded into the CICD, assuring the Volvo quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Strategy:
* Own the product lifecycle of the Software Factory from concept to early development phases and handover to the Department Program Manager (DPM).
* Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap that align with the broader organizational goals.
* Ensure that the Software Factory concept fulfills necessary requirements and certifications.
Technology & Concept Development:
* Collaborate with System Architects to drive technology innovation and secure concept development.
* Identify and address bottlenecks to continuously improve existing and future improvements.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Close collaboration with the product ARTs and partners to secure cross-functional needs and priorities is key.
* Ensure that the ConX Software Factory follows the concept of Unified Software Factory.
* Coordinate content dependencies with other Product Managers and relevant teams
Product Performance & Quality:
* Define and measure KPIs which transparently reflect the quality of the Software Factory services.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to Software Factory performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Reporting Structure
This role will report directly to Department Manager, with close collaboration with other Technology Managers, Architects, and the Department Program Manager (DPM).
Working Conditions
* Full-time, with occasional travel required to engage with stakeholders across clusters and teams.
What you will bring
The ideal candidate will have over five years of proven experience in technology or product management roles within an automotive Software Factory/CICD or another complex customer product, with a particular focus on automation and testing from early program development and strategy.
They should also possess a strong technical background, with at least eight years of experience as a software engineer for embedded software development, utilizing CICD on a daily basis, and the ability to understand and contribute to product development processes. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in defining processes and understanding their impact on users, as well as in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
Excellent communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The candidate should also have demonstrated experience in managing product costs and aligning products with business objectives, strong problem-solving skills, and experience in identifying and addressing process bottlenecks.
Furthermore, they should have a strong ability to resolve conflicts by considering different stakeholder perspectives. Preferred qualifications include experience in testing product quality and its tooling, experience in testing product security and its tooling, and knowledge of relevant product certification standards and requirements.
