Mission:
The mission of the Technical Preparation Engineer is to deliver a product that is secured & aligned according to Volvo Production System and Volvo Operations Concept. As a Technical Preparation Engineer, you will be the GTO engineering interface in product development.

Position Description:
As a Technical Preparation Engineer, you'll be part of a dedicated team impacting the next generation truck design to support manufacturing plants and operators. Your main responsibility will be product preparation within Chassis Heavy Duty Trucks, acting as the key interface between Final Assembly Plants and Group Truck Technology for product changes and modifications.

Main Activities and Responsibilities:
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that product development aligns seamlessly with project targets, covering aspects like assembly graphs, Physical Modules, and Marriage Points. Your responsibilities include detailing technical requirements, evaluating and recommending product concepts, and actively contributing to the development and verification of technical solutions. You will manage internal coordination within the 'GTO Product,' providing valuable input on the assembly time impact and overseeing product documentation. Leading early-stage implementation solutions within GTO, supporting factory activities, and driving the product problem resolution process are integral aspects of your role. Additionally, you will take the lead in implementing product quality improvements identified in the field for GTO while actively managing and developing knowledge in your area of responsibility.

To excel in this role, you should bring:
A Master or Bachelor's degree in science or equivalent manufacturing experience, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
Approximately 5-8 years of experience in the Automotive Industry, particularly in trucks, with a strong foundation in project work within Volvo.
Knowledge and experience in production engineering and/or production.
Technical competencies encompassing a deep understanding of automotive products, product development, and proficiency in using quality tools such as Design For Assembly (DFA), P-FMEA, etc.
Excellent verbal and written skills in both Swedish and English.
Strong personal skills, including the ability to build networks and collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment. You should be solution-focused, dedicated to delivering on time, possess negotiation skills, and demonstrate analytical prowess.
