We are now looking for a Taste Development Specialist in R&D, it is a one year temporary position with start Sept 1st 2017.
As a Taste Development Specialist you possess the power of transforming an ordinary, everyday meal into a great tasting moment that makes people long for more. The Santa Maria R&D Department develops new products and concepts to supply the needs of innovation and renovation for all business regions, product categories and brands within the WFFD group. We are also the ones creating all those delicious recipes for our consumers to get inspired by and to help them seek variation and break everyday routine.
We need to strengthen the R&D team in Mölndal with a temporary Taste Development Specialist where you will be developing new and improving existing products and concepts, working innovative with new ingredients and creating ideas for new concepts and the usage of our products.
Responsibilities
• Actively taking part in product development and improvement projects that have been signed off by the gatekeepers and ensure that the Santa Maria PD process is followed. Develop recipe and functional properties of new products and concepts. Continuously work to review ingredients, processes and methods to maintain our superior brand presence in our categories.
• Continuously perform benchmarking and quality reviews against our main competitors. Evaluate and describe sensory properties of products and act as test panel leader.
• Continuously improve product quality and cost efficiency.
• Explore trends and new research within food, new technology, ingredients and functional properties to use and implement in our PD-projects. Attending courses, exhibitions, trade shows, seminars to support role responsibilities.
• Presentation of new concepts, products and technology to support Marketing, Sales and other relevant functions in internal and external training.
• Secure product safety, legal requirement, and environmental goals and ensure that product development follows Santa Maria Product strategy.
• Responsible for development of cooking instructions and recipes for using our products.
• Responsible for competence-building activities in the taste area for both internal and external partners.
• Act and live according to the Paulig Group's values
• Work according to the company strategy and towards the goals for R&D department.
Qualifications
It is required that you have a passion for food, a university degree in food technology, culinary science or similar as well as documented experience from development work within the food industry. It is also required that you have a few years' experience from restaurants, working as a chef or similar.
The work requires you to be creative but still strategic with the ability to organize and prioritize. You need to be able to map and coordinate large projects working in conjunction with international interfaces as well as strive for results independently.
We are looking for an ambitious person who takes initiative, enjoys being active and who is able to communicate to people clearly, concisely and with a high level of integrity. English at advanced level is required.
