Do you want to develop the future's systems to hotels?

We need to strengthen our organization further with a dedicated and talented System & Software Developer for our back office system called Serviator.

Serviator is a back office system that helps hotels manage work processes and survey the daily work tasks. This includes for instance cleaning reporting, maintenance tasks and mini-bar reporting. Serviator can function independently in its own environment but integration with the hotel's Property Management System is preferred. In addition, Serviator will also work as a tool for property maintenance and not only for hotel facilities.

The System & Software Developer is responsible for managing the further development of the existing software, which is divided into three different programs; Web Front End, Manager and Communicator.

Web Front End

The user interface is web based and tailored for use on any handheld device (smartphone/mobile phone, tablet, PC, even PDA historically). The System Developer must ensure that the code & application are optimized for use in a wireless network. .NET, ASP and SQL server is used for coding and data management. In addition technologies such as AJAX is necessary for an efficient user interface as well as APIs to integrate with other systems.

Manager

Manager is an application for configuration and maintenance of Serviator. The development of Manager is done using Windows Forms. The System Developer must maintain the development of Manager in accordance with the Web Front End regarding structure, appearance and functionality.

Communicator

Communicator is an application that is operating between Serviator's SQL database and third-party systems. The application uses TCP/IP to signal changes to and from a third-party system. In the future it may be necessary to add protocols to Communicator depending on demands from third-party systems. If integration with a third-party system is required the System Developer collects information, develops, and through dialog with the manufacturer learns how their system works and how to interface with it.

Other characteristics of the work

The System & Software Developer will assist installation and support staff and conduct training of these. It's part of his/her duties to provide support to our dealers throughout the process, including the sales department in coordination with Serviator product manager. On-site support to customer is not required but client visits are encouraged, both to understand how hotels operate and to launch new version/pilot of the product potentially. If needed, support via Remote Desktop will be used in most installations.

The System & Software Developer will participate in the entire product development cycle together with the product manager (i.e. business requirements, specifications, effort estimation, development, QA and release, product documentation for sales and operations). This provides product precision and relevant development.

Understanding the difference between handheld devices (mobile phones, tablet PC, PDA) and operating systems is critical. Experience in implementing data warehouse/ORM is important. We are constantly working on monitoring the development of new tools and new methods of communication.
