Volvo Group is World Leading in Electromobility. In Summer 2016 we established a truly customer oriented team, working closely together to drive the development of new technology, new business models and new ways of working in the area of Electromobility developing the a platform for the complete Volvo Group.

Your team will be responsible for running the complete Electromobility development including demonstrator vehicles for several of the business areas within Volvo Group. Examples are Hybrid, Electric Hybrid and full Electric Bus, Hybrid Trucks and full Electric Trucks, Hybrid and full Electric Construction and Industrial equipment & Marine applications.

Responsibilities
As a system design engineer for the electric machine you are component owner for the machine and a number of high voltage distribution components, such as junction boxes and connectors. In your role you will work close together with external suppliers, our in-house development and our system organization. You will secure the installation and verify the behavior and control of the parts in their applications, as well as addressing maintenance issues. Your key role when taking new suppliers on board is to be responsible for making sure each supplier understands the Volvo requirements as well as the customer needs.

Highlights
• Refine and release existing as well as new specifications and give feedback on specifications written by others.
• Be responsible for communicating requirement specifications to the supplier and will together with the supplier create and maintain integration plans.
• Drive and support the release, installation and quality process.
• Functional verification and fault tracing in vehicles as well as in rigs and lab environment.
• Review supplier design documents, working process and time plans, when needed also on supplier sites.

Qualifications
• Engineering degree in electronics, or equivalent
• Working experience in relevant field
• Working proficiency in verbal and written English
• Knowledge about electric machines and control
• Automotive environment and application experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Electrical vehicle development
• 400VAC as well as 600VDC installations
• Electro mechanics and electric machine design
• Control theory and test data analysis
• Volvo systems and process
