General Description
The Architecture and Technology team has an overall responsibility for the poker network architecture and the related Poker applications. We are looking for an expert in high volume internet applications, with experience in defining architectures spanning multiple services with extreme scalability and availability goals.
The bwin Games software is developed as a system of loosely coupled services. Predominant implementation platform is Java. Challenges ahead involve creating a world class player experience within the Poker domain.
The position provides the opportunity to shape the technology of a large scale internet business in a dynamic field. While the main responsibility of the team is on high level architecture we believe the role also requires in-depth expertise at the implementation level of software, and wide knowledge of the whole software and hardware stacks.
Main Tasks
The main tasks include:
Define and document the Target Architecture
Analyze and advice on business requirements
Study and evaluate new technology
Educate and mentor developers
Participate in strategic development projects
Take responsibility for service boundaries, APIs, 3rd party library use, and core design
Define and maintain development standards and Definitive Software Library
Update and coordinate top level system documentation
Promote and educate at internal and external events on bwin, architecture vision, new technologies and other topics.
Required Skills and Experience
M.S in Computer Science, or equivalent
8 years professional experience of software development / architecture related to large scale internet business
Ability to work, write, and speak publicly in English
Experience with high availability solutions is a plus
