ROLE OVERVIEW
• Develops strong relationships with customer contacts at executive level to gain insight into the business imperatives and IT drivers enabling development of a strategy to sell Symantec solutions.
• Focuses on the strategic nature of the relationship and builds long term value for the client and sustainable success for Symantec.
• Works independently to determine the best approach for achieving personal and company goals.
• Works under general direction toward predetermined short and long term goals.
• Interfaces with Senior Management inside Symantec to help set strategy and participates in varied roles to support internal business development.
• Understands the client supplier ecosystem and builds partnerships where appropriate to deliver against objectives.
• Sells the organization's products and/or services through a consultative selling approach and maintains good relationships with key individuals within named accounts.
• Responsible for expanding and retaining the client while ensuring ongoing excellent customer service.
• Primary sales point-of-contact for the account, representing the organization to the customer and the customer to the organization.
• Drives quarterly business reviews with customer to ensure value from Symantec investment.
• Ensures customer is kept up to date with Symantec product roadmaps enabling the customer to plan and mitigate risks to their business.
• Develops strategies and orchestrates company resources to maximize sales volume within assigned accounts.
• Effectively engages and builds cooperative relationships with sales resources: SE, Channel, Specialist sales team and executives as required.
• Actively builds networks with contacts and partner companies that can contribute to Symantec's success.
• Identifies and qualifies opportunities, developing and executing the sales process.
• Builds and qualifies pipeline opportunities.
• Responsible for account penetration and balanced sales growth.
• Responsible for meeting assigned Sales Quota.
• Meets or exceeds discount/profit margin goals.
• Provide accurate forecasts and reports on activity and sales performance as and when required by management.
• Ensure full compliance with all internal processes.
• Ensure completion and utilization of whitespace.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT:
• Create, implement, measure and review a strategic or operational plan that drives achievement of business goals aligned to overall Symantec strategy
• Uses mechanisms such as territory planning, account plans, opportunity inspection, pipeline management, account reviews, forecast calls etc.
• Advises the sales force how to position Symantec as a strategic vendor to corporations and by doing, that increases average deal size
• Identifies and pursues opportunities to expand business activities within areas of responsibility
• Plan and control the expense associated with area of responsibility even if not responsible for overall cost center
• Establish working relationships with external parties which supports the achievement of business goals
• Is conversant with Symantec systems and procedures and ensures effective use of and conformance to standard business practices and tools (i.e. SFDC - SalesForce.com)
CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT:
• Has established contacts in large corporations in Denmark
• C-Level (CxO) contacts is required
• Experience managing complex customer negotiations
• Understanding of Service Providers, outsourcing and integration
• Has established contacts and relationships within the channel/partner community
• Builds relationships with customers (internal or external) as necessary - executive engagement is essential
• Provides customer escalation management as necessary for problem resolution
• Provides support for customer relationship management as necessary
• Drives initiatives which result in improvement in customer satisfaction
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• The successful candidate will exhibit true sales ability supported by a track record of overachievement in Sales.
• Educated to degree level
• Business/professional related qualification desirable
• Management/Leadership certification desirable
• Experienced at negotiating with C-level on large strategic deals
• Solution selling experience
• Experience of working in a US global matrixed organization ideally of similar size and revenue to Symantec
• International experience is desirable although not necessary
