We are now hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer with focus on Electromobility systems and suppliers, and more specifically on energy storage systems such as high voltage batteries.

The Supplier Network Quality organization, belonging to Volvo Group Purchasing, is driving the global supplier base towards premium automotive quality standards and world-class performance. We are responsible for continuously improving the supplier base and the quality of purchased parts. The three main internal customers/brands for Supplier Quality & Development in Europe are Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks and Volvo Bus. Our people are spread across Gothenburg and Lyon.
This is how you could make an impact
As an SQE, you have a full end-to-end ownership of your portfolio. Your input is key to select the best suitable supplier for a sourcing award for a product. Your work continues throughout the project to secure a quality assured project launch. After serial production start, you continue to follow and challenge our suppliers through continuous improvement work and zero default mindset. Risk management skills are core in all three steps: sourcing, project and running production.
Who are you?
For this position, we are looking for candidates with great knowledge of battery pack, modules, and cell manufacturing as well as the associated electronics manufacturing and software development process.
We believe that you have a growth mindset and see challenges as learning opportunities. Demonstrating a keen interest in maintaining quality standards within the automotive industry, along with a strong grasp of relevant quality standards, you prioritize customer satisfaction in your daily tasks, all while maintaining a structured and organized approach.
You are an excellent communicator and a multicultural team player, both internally within the Volvo Group but also towards supplier management teams, able to create networks and to lead cross-functional activities.

Required knowledge/experience
• Preferred MSc or BSc in Engineering, and some >5 years of technical experience needed
• Good knowledge/skills in engineering or manufacturing of battery packs, battery cells and electronic parts for electromobility vehicles.
• Knowledge of specific standards and tools used in software areas is a plus
• Knowledge and practice of automotive quality standards and tools
• Experience in working autonomously or with substantial independence
• Driver's license for cars. The job requires frequent travels (up to 2-3 times per month)
• Effective communication in English, both verbally and in written form.
