www.engelska.se IES Kista is now hiring an in-house substitute teacher for a 100% contract ending in June 2023. Part of this position includes teaching 3 English classes (7 lessons) per week.
As a substitute teacher, your daily work is quite varied, and involves teaching various lessons by following lesson plans provided by the absent teacher. Your schedule will be decided along with the substitute coordinator every morning. However, you will also have set times for teaching and planning related to the English lessons you are teaching. There is also an opportunity to be a Class Mentor along with another teacher.
We are looking for someone who:
• can follow lesson plans and manage a class of students
• has worked in a school or with children or young people before
• has excellent English skills
• has good Swedish skills
• is confident and a good role model for our students
About IES Kista
Internationella Engelska Skolan Kista is a school for grades 4-9 with 896 students and over 100 staff. The school opened in 2015 and has since expanded to become the largest grundskola in the Rinkeby-Kista area of northern Stockholm. We are proud of our student cohort, where over 50 different mother tongue languages are represented, and this diversity is subsequently reflected in our staff body. We conduct up to 50% of our teaching in English, following the Swedish National Curriculum (Lgr 22).

Academically, we prioritise a structured and well-planned teaching approach based the research-informed methodologies for effectively managing cognitive load, and establishing a core knowledge base.
