Position description:
Subject Matter Expert SME Packaging development
Purpose:
• The Purpose with Packaging Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) in core phase, from Annual to Program Confirmation, is to lead, set budget, and offer the cross functional MP&L work within his/her area
• Responsible for develop racks/Emballage concept for Trim & Final and Body in White projects.
• SME is a specialist resource within Packaging Engineering MP&L for unique areas within the projects
Main Tasks:
• Drives the assignment from Annual to [PC] according to plan
• Plan all activities for Packaging Engineering including preparation and follow-up of relevant time schedules
• Corporate and exchange information with Manufacturing Engineering Core at the different plants
• Calculates packaging investments and set budget for car programs
• Give feedback to Product Development and ME on needed product changes to lower investment and transport cost
• Represent MP&L in Manufacturing Business Office investigations
• Lead Systems Engineering (SE)-phase to reach the best packaging concept.
• Develops and assures cost efficiency for the program in accordance with business and program targets.
• Update the Analyze and verification Needs cost list for all car projects
• Reports the car program assignment's status and forecast to MP&L Unit Program Manager 2 on the Core project meetings
• On request attend Technical and Project Control - Logistics meeting to inform strategically directions and get a decision.
• System Decision alternative - Manufacturing, logistic feedback to ME (Responsible)
• Secures product and MP&L process compatibility for the program, including the implementation of established process strategies for Car Assembly plants
• Assures that MP&L 's requirements are handled in concept, system and production process solutions
• Works for process driven product development
• Hand over car project to central logistic engineers at [PC]
• Annual update of standards and process
• Lead or support annual concept studies
• Support special projects that includes MP&L and packaging related issues
• Perform benchmarks
• Secure and coordinate MP&L's input to the Commodity Business Plans
Responsibility:
• Drive project and set frames with investments, concepts and time responsibility
• Transfer of assignment around [PC] early phases (concept) to DPL2 later phases (industrialization)
Authority:
Take and execute decisions within each projects budget frames connected to above tasks and set/approved budget.
Skills and required experience:
Competence Requirements:
• Experience in various areas of MP&L, especially Product Creation
• Practical experience from the production process
• Good practical and theoretical knowledge about the product development process
• Knowledge of processes, methods and tool within MP&L, ME and PD
• Wide extended contact net on local level
• Experience from implementation of Emballage projects within PE area
• Plant & project experience
• Good product knowledge of standards within area of scope
• Strong business acumen, drive and ambition
• High creativity level / output
• Ability to cooperate
• Ability to coordinate
• Ability to travel
• English
• Quality/Green belt
• Large flexibility due to workload pending overtime
• Purchasing knowledge
• Knowledge within supplier processes connected with each areas
