The International School of Helsingborg has provided a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels since 1995. Today, we have approximately 850 students between 2 and 19 years of age, across all programmes. We are an IB Continuum school, delivering the International Baccalaureate curriculum for all program levels. English is the primary language of learning at the school.

Job description
We are currently seeking an ambitious full time special needs teacher (speciallärare) to start working in our MYP team. In the MYP we work according to the IB MYP curriculum where inquiry based learning, conceptual understanding and a strong focus on learning skills is at the core of what we do. We also follow the Swedish curriculum in the Swedish subject.

You would join the MYP team as the SEN teacher of the MYP1-4 Special Needs team (SEN team). In this role, you will support students 1:1 and in small groups, completing pedagogical mappings, drawing up action plans and individual development plans, organizing special accommodations and planning the students' schooling.
Qualifications
You are a qualified special needs teacher (speciallärare) with a teaching degree in Swedish and/or math as well as a postgraduate diploma in Special Educational Needs from the Swedish educational system. You have experience working as a special needs teacher (speciallärare) following the Swedish school law and Swedish educational system steering documents. Knowledge/experience in social pedagogy/group dynamics is a plus.
It is a requirement that you are fluent in English and Swedish, both in speech and in writing.
It will be of great advantage to have experience of the IB system.

You communicate clearly and proactively, you are a good listener and support and care for others, letting them take initiative, grow and shine. You are open to new educational ideas and interested in working in a multicultural environment.
