Who we are
The team members of Commodity Purchasing Autonomous & Connected Systems are working in a dynamic environment where the development of electronic components and systems for Scania-products are running fast with increased requirements on both - products and suppliers.
We are a fairly new team with lots of experience within purchasing and electronics who enjoys working closely together. We enjoy solving problems both within the team and with our cross-functions and always strive to find the best solutions for Scania. Our team has diverse backgrounds, competencies and skills where we are establishing the frame for how we should work together to enable all the knowledge in the best way. We strive for a climate where opinions and knowledge is openly shared within the team without any sense of prestige.
Responsibilities
You will be part of a company-wide product cost optimization program that is essential for Scania's future profitability and growth. You will be the voice of purchasing for electric & electronic components and driving cost-down activities together with all internal stakeholders.
As a Sourcing Manager you will be responsible to run several cost saving activities to improve our cost of purchased goods.
In your daily work you will prepare and take lead in negotiations with strategic suppliers as well as coordinate and align activities closely with purchasing colleagues of both Commodity and Project Purchasing. You will work very close to R&D and have a great opportunity to grow and gather experience as a professional.
Your profile
You are a person who likes to take the lead in working with others and is interested in developing your skills further. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple cases. You have a strong commercial but also technical interest and love to work with supplier relationship management and succeed in negotiations.
You have at least 1 year of purchasing experience and an academic degree in industrial engineering, economics or comparable. You are social and enjoy working in a team towards a common goal.
You like to work with cross functions and be a representative of Purchasing towards internal functions and suppliers. You are self-driven and ambitious and make your department reach set business goals.
As the role involves communication with global suppliers, you are fluent in writing and speaking English. Other language skills are an advantage.
