Volvo Buses is looking to hire a Strategic Sourcing Buyer.
As part of the Strategic Purchasing group at Volvo Buses you would be working with a global team of highly professional purchasers, each with his or hers special area of expertise. The Strategic Purchasing Department is responsible for the sourcing of parts for the future generations of public transport solutions produced at Volvo Buses plants in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Together we make sure that the sourcing strategies utilize the best supplier base for each commodity and help generate the best possible result for the team, the company and our society.
Role Summary
Working in this position you would be responsible for Volvo Buses strategic sourcing of a selection of commodities, the most important one being plastic components that are used in almost all areas of the bus.
As Strategic Sourcing Buyer you would have the global responsibility to establish sourcing strategies for your commodities in cooperation with the other buyers in Project&Operations, purchasing project managers, our supplier quality department, the teams in product development and our manufacturing plants. This would require international travel for internal and supplier meetings and the full responsibility of management of the supplier relationships within your commodity.
This includes implementation of the best supplier relationship management processes, supplier development, supplier partnering while ensuring a strong key stakeholder process on a global level. Your work would be in line with the Volvo Way and Volvo Group corporate values.
