What you'll do
The Infotainment development at Volvo Cars consist of a numerous agile teams focusing on development to create a word leading in-car digital experience. We are proudly working with cutting edge technology such as Android Auto with our partner Google. Volvo Cars has received widespread awards from the international press when showing this system throughout the world right now. To support this exciting future, we are looking for a software responsible to strengthen our team. You will work in a creative environment, within an Agile Release Train (ART) that is constantly implementing new functionality, where we focus on both developing the product but also the individuals. The team that you will work with are responsible for the area of hardware development of our infotainment head units and surrounding interface components. Our group consists of two agile teams. The open position is in the team that handle Driver Information Module (DIM), Vehicle gateway Module (VGM) and tuner. The DIM displays information regarding the status of the vehicle, such as the vehicle speed or the fuel level. The Driver Information Module (DIM) controls the prioritization of messages for the combined instrument display, the Graphical head-up Display (GHUD), and the Infotainment Head Unit (IHU). It uses the estimation of the driver workload to determine the priority of each message. The tuner controls the radio functionality. The VGM acts like a router and security gateway for access to vehicle functions.
What you'll bring
We want to build self-organizing empowered teams that act proactively, that take responsibility for their deliveries and always strive to build a great product for the end customer. You will be part of our agile hardware development team. Your team is managing the development at the suppliers to ensure our requirements, time plans are met also considering cost efficiency. As a software responsible you will continuously work with securing the deliveries for Volvo Cars production and aftermarket. You will manage the software developed at the supplier. A key responsibility is to compile the technical requirements from the various stakeholders and make sure that the supplier has accepted the scope for the development. Later in the development review the test and validations results together with the supplier. Once the software is delivered you will ensure that it gets distributed for internal testing. We document the software for release to production and aftermarket in systems like KDP, System Weaver, and secure steps in the quality process. We are working agile, and you will be part of a team working in a common prioritized backlog owned by the product owner. You will have a close collaboration with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Team manager and many other people working both at Volvo Cars and suppliers with interface to your team.
We are looking for a software responsible to join our team. We are looking for you who have B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electronics, Computer science, Automation, Mechanics or equivalent with relevant experience. Having worked within the automotive industry with diagnostics, integration of software, software testing or managing/owning electronic hardware components for release to production or similar is meritorious. Having an interest in our products and components, and a drive to learn and develop are very important qualifications. You like to meet people and support the roll-out of our new technology. You are engaged with a curious, open-minded and positive approach. You like structure and have things organized and well planned. Fluency in English is mandatory. We welcome female applicants.
