The Circular Operations & Solutions division is a vibrant community of around 800 talented individuals, spread across 8 global locations.
Circular Operations Flen is located in the heart of Södermanland and traces its history to the 1891 and have produced remanufactured engines since the 1960's. Today, the site has moved to new, modern facilities and is now the main location for remanufactured light- and heavy duty engines, construction equipment transmissions and other components.
We are now looking for a Site Director in Flen
As Site Director for the Flen Plant, the primary focus of the role is in delivering results through the effective management of local plant management team using Volvo Production System (VPS), communicative and value based leadership, process coordination and standardization. Additionally this role is charged with interpreting policies and strategies into actionable goals of the organization, with focus on transforming the organization into the future.
Being a member of the Circular management team means participating in steering towards the goals of Volvo Group Circular Operations and Solutions, making decisions that support the overall Operational Strategy and managing the diversity of our industrial footprint. This position reports to Vice President Circular Operations & Solutions.
Your new challenge?
In this role, your main responsibilities are to plan and organize the site manufacturing programs and activities to meet operating targets and long term strategies. You manage the development and implementation of VPS, ensure ongoing development of the whole organization. You are responsible for the production resources, processes and quality systems in order to meet targets for delivery precision, quality and cost and cash efficiency. You lead and manage the management team and others, evaluate and take decisive action on the progress of plant objectives and grow further leadership competencies within the plant in order to secure efficient management as well as prepare the organization for the future.
Key success factors:
To succeed in this role you need the ability to drive exhaustive change management and manage transformation of plant. You are able to engage people in the organization through exemplary leadership, growth mindset and common targets. You need to drive continuous improvements through VPS, communicate effectively to challenge and support the organization. Finally, you need the ability to manage in a systematic way in terms of size, competence and composition, having the capability of driving implementation of local, regional and global initiatives and lead according to our values to provide a safe and healthy work environment on the site.
Who are you?
The Site Director is above all an effective business leader. You understand the chain of the business and are familiar with modern managing principles and techniques within a global organization. This includes broad knowledge of global manufacturing as well as good understanding of the commercial vehicle industry and business analyses.
We seek a Site Director who can motivate, lead and, most importantly, transfer our vision into day-to-day activities and clear expectations. You have a visual leadership style and a go-to-genba approach. Implementing the needed structural changes requires a sound knowledge of production and practice of lean manufacturing.
The ideal candidate holds a University/Master's Degree or equivalent in Business or Mechanical Engineering. Being able to demonstrate successful managerial, organizational, interpersonal and team building skills, as well as plant related knowledge in manufacturing processes in a lean manufacturing context is key. The position requires extensive manufacturing experience, and experience of senior management.
With a real talent for cultural integration, and business analyses, you are an inspiring and inclusive leader as well as an active team worker. Demonstrating past leadership success and the potential to grow even further. Needless to say, proficiency in the Swedish language is required as well as the corporate language English.
