Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Tech Operations we are recruiting a SIP/VoIP Engineer. You will be collaborating with the rest of the Tech Operations team with a special focus on designing solutions and resolving issues related to SIP.

You will manage the phone number provisioning and routing to ensure best availability of service in existing and new markets all over the world. In this role you will use your skills, as well as your service-minded personality, and be Freespee's go-to person for all things SIP.

Your duties will include

Configuring, deploying, and managing Freespee's VoIP platforms.
Ensuring that we have proper monitoring in place to be notified of issues in our VoIP platforms.
Liaising with other members of both technical and sales teams, on service planning, capacity forecast and quality issues.
Proactively working to ensure a solid stable service in all markets where Freespee operates.
Providing technical input in discussions with engineering management and other departments when entering new markets or rolling out new telco features.
Troubleshooting SIP issues and escalating issues to our telco partners.

REQUIREMENTS
Detailed knowledge of SIP telephony technology, protocols and signalling call flows.
Extensive experience with open source solutions for SIP based telephony (e.g. Freeswitch, Kamailio, Asterisk, Free PBX).
Extensive experience in diagnosing faults in SIP telephony environments.
Background knowledge of Contact Centre Operations and technologies.
Background knowledge of legacy telephony technologies.
Familiarity with Linux instance command line management, and use of Linux based tools and utilities.
Experience working with AWS products, solutions and management.
Experience working with MySQL and PHP.
