Job Description
Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall's Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like solar PV and batteries. Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our solar PV and battery operations further.
The purpose of "Valuation" is to support the BA in making correct business and project decisions that enable us to meet our targets and ambitions.
Do you have a strong financial modelling ability and aptitude, as well as excellent communication skills? Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position of 'Valuation Manager' in BA Wind to join our dynamic international team.
In this role you will use sound business rationale to help maximise value in our projects. You will work with the 'Offshore', 'Onshore' and 'Solar and Battery' Business Units and any related BA initiatives that demand Valuation expertise.
You will be accountable for project business cases, closely interact with development leaders and expert functions such as Procurement, Engineering and Generation. Furthermore, you will have regular interaction with the other 'Valuation Manager's, playing a key role in improving our tools, processes and efficacy.
There will be variety in day-to-day activities including the evaluation of acquisition, divestment and partnering opportunities, in all our existing markets and potential new ones. You will have responsibility to lead the valuation of projects assigned to you, while you can expect close co-operation and support from your peers.
You will report directly to the 'Director of Valuation' within Business Controlling and have the possibility to collaborate with the best in class and industry leaders. You will be working on interdisciplinary projects and within a specialist team of committed colleagues with well over 200 years combined experience.
Main tasks & responsibilities
The responsibilities can include, and are not limited to;
Ability to create, validate, review and modify complex financial models
Preparation and maintenance of economic and financial appraisals of onshore and offshore wind farms, Solar, Battery and Hydrogen projects
Corroborate and ensure quality of inputs used in business cases
Work closely with Risk and Uncertainty Management to ensure coherent decision proposals with 'Risk & Reward' in mind
Efficiently run multiple sensitivities and scenarios and draw conclusions
Perform ad hoc analysis required by the project and across the portfolios
Analysis of acquisition, divestments, JV and partnering opportunities
Communicating and interpreting results, with valid context to a wide audience
Calculating both the internal and external view of potential project value

Qualifications
The successful candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, finance, science or engineering, with a minimum of 3 years demonstrable or comparable experience of financial modelling or similar discipline. You possess excellent comminication skills in both verbal and written English and strong interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in various multicultural and interdisciplinary project teams. Your inclination to take initiative and innovate are qualities that make you proficient in knowledge sharing and explaining financial results and concepts to non-finance personnel. An expert level Microsoft Excel is essential for this position and a drive towards meeting set results and being able to meet tight deadlines.
You have a keen business acumen and commercial awarenss that helps you to interpret and extract relavance from complex financial and technical data.
In addition,
Familiarity with the concept of 'FAST' financial models
Understanding of Financial Theory, including debt and financial instruments
Experience in the Renewable Energy industry is not essential, but considered a plus, as is knowledge of statistical analysis
Knowledge of, or an interest to learn coding in programming languages such as VBA, Python or Matlab would be advantageous
