Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)

Do you have extensive experience in supplier quality assurance and a passion for driving improvements within the automotive and defense industries? Are you analytical, strategic, and skilled in supplier collaboration? If so, we are looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our team!

About the Role:

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest quality standards. You will lead supplier audits, quality assessments, and process improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS9100.

You will collaborate closely with suppliers, engineering teams, and production to resolve quality issues, improve supplier performance, and ensure robust quality control processes throughout the supply chain. Additionally, you will play a key role in supplier development initiatives and risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain supplier quality management processes in line with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS9100 standards.

• Conduct supplier audits, performance assessments, and risk evaluations to ensure quality and reliability.

• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving initiatives using tools such as 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma.

• Implement and ensure compliance with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements.

• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with suppliers to resolve non-conformances.

• Monitor supplier KPIs, quality trends, and improvement opportunities to enhance supply chain performance.

• Provide technical support and training to suppliers regarding quality expectations and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to optimize supplier quality processes.

• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance supplier capabilities and manufacturing quality.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering, industrial technology, quality assurance, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably within the automotive or defense industries.

Industry Standards: Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, and other relevant quality management systems.

Supplier Management: Proven experience in supplier audits, risk assessments, and performance management.

Problem-Solving Skills: Expertise in 8D, FMEA, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, and Process Capability Analysis.

Project Management: Experience leading supplier development and quality improvement initiatives.

Communication & Collaboration: Strong ability to negotiate, influence, and build relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

Languages: Fluent in English and Swedish (both written and verbal).
