Work description
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for driving value through the supply chain, which translates to tangible benefits for Xylem's Customers and Investors. Responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic approach to the corporate procurement process of direct and indirect goods and services. Develop and execute long-term strategy to facilitate business improvements. Conduct business reviews with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies and identify cost down and improvement opportunities
In this leadership role you will be reporting solid line to Senior Director of Global Procurement EU. You will represent Procurement within the local leadership team, taking a lead role in activities and projects which require procurement expertise for business focused initiatives.
Manage a spend of approximately 230M USD. Leading, mentoring, developing and coaching 8 direct reports and 18 indirect reports to achieve annual cost savings, process improvements, improved working capital, mitigation of supply chain risk and other procurement and business related KPIs.
Responsibilities
• Leadership and implementation of all Global Xylem Procurement and Business initiatives at our sites in Emmaboda (Sweden), Metz (France) and Sundbyberg (Sweden).
• Develop and secure healthy relationships with Xylem's key supply partners, taking an active role in key supplier developments and negotiations.
• Secure implementation of Category Strategies in partnership with Xylem Category Management teams, create synergies and leverage other opportunities in alignment with Xylem's Customer and Market needs
• Manage and secure compliance to Xylem procurement policies, procedure and programs
• Meet regularly with key stakeholders to identify cross-functional opportunities, drive business development and secure alignment for key strategies and actions.
• To identify and implement process improvements through the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
• Prepare for and attend regular business reviews with senior leadership team.

You as Procurement Manager
To succeed and thrive in the role as Procurement Manager at Xylem it is necessary to possess good knowledge of business and behaviors in different countries and cultures. Personal characteristics and skills essential for the position are:
• Applicable experience within procurement and logistics business management, procedures as well as related certification programs.
• Ability to translate concepts, strategies, and technical development/landmarks to competitive procurement solutions.
• Excellent leader skills with ability to develop and inspire the organization to drive its efficiency and result, as well as encouraging and supporting the team to delivery excellence.
• Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Capable of working in a team environment involving multiple cultures.
• Capable to interact with different organizational levels, with strong communicative proficiency.
• Willing and flexible to accept new challenges, with an enthusiastic and competitive approach.
• Ability to travel as required by the position.
• Driven and proactive, with sharp target focus.
Requirements for this position:
• University degree in Engineering or Economics or equivalent
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Good knowledge and at least 5 years' experience of Procurement managerial roles in manufacturing industry
• Experience of working within a Continuous Improvement cultured organization
• Fluent in English, written and spoken, with professional proficiency
