To meet a future, we must find a way to effectively analyse and evaluate our cars' energy efficiency and the company's sustainability. Volvo Cars has decided to be one of the leaders within the field of sustainability. To approach this, we need to develop methods and tools, and analyse data to make quick adjustments.
Are you willing to support development teams in understanding customers behaviour, car functional performance and alike? Are you used to analyse data and draw valid conclusions? Then the role as Data Analyst in our group Vehicle Energy Efficiency is the place for you to prosper! You will belong to the department of Sustainability Centre and be part of a highly focused strategic and competent agile scrum team, working strategically within the environmental domain, but also operationally in our car programs.
What you'll do
You will analyze data of our vehicles in real life driving or in the test rig, and support our strategical team with development of methods and tools to evaluate and optimize vehicle energy efficiency. You will also be involved in analyzing data in our car programs to support with requirement setting. Part of your time will be spent on communicating our results within Sustainability Centre and other strategical teams internally.
You and Your Skills
We see that you have at least a Master of Science in Computer Science, Systems, Control and Mechatronics, Physics or similar. You are proficient in both programming and data analytics, comfortable using Python, Matlab, Java, C++, R, Julia, Scalaor similar.
You have excellent skills in analyzing, structuring, implementing, and storing large data sets. You are also used to work with data visualisation tools, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx or Google Looker. Prior documented working experience with data science and data analysis is considered beneficial.
You will also need knowledge of the physics and mechanics of a car preferably from working within the automotive industry and in particular from the vehicle propulsion domain. We also see an advantage if you have complete vehicle knowledge - a combination of practical and theoretical vehicle knowledge.
You are highly motivated, creative and curious, willing to embrace challenges and can operate in a frequently changing environment. You enjoy collaboration, but are able to take initiatives on your own, you see the overall picture and logical patterns, but are also able to go into a detailed analysis of things.
