hela Sverige The role of Senior Commercial Manager sits in Project Support within Project Delivery, which is the department responsible for the construction of onshore wind farms. The team currently consists of 5 commercial managers. Key interfaces for the role within the project organisation is with the procurement managers, the project and package managers, lawyers, controllers and planners.
In addition to the example tasks set out below (which is the same for all commercial managers in projects), the senior profile looked for in this role is expected to take a bigger responsibility in bringing together the commercial managers in the line organisation, provide peer to peer coaching, and liaise with the Head of Project Support in relation to workload and driving improvement initiatives. The role is expected to proactively seek to improve our internal processes and templates by bringing in lessons learnt.
During the procurement phase, the Commercial Manager supports the Procurement Manager by providing lessons learnt from the execution phase into the procurement strategy, the invitation to tender (primarily the conditions of contract and commercial schedules) and during negotiations. During the procurement phase, the role is purely advisory, however, the full extent of the involvement will vary in projects. The Commercial Manager is also expected to prepare commercial processes and templates for the construction phase of the project at this stage.
For the construction phase of the projects, the Commercial Manager provides advice and support to the Project Manager and Package Managers in relation to commercial and contractual topics. Important involvement during this phase is in relation to claims and variations from contractors, invoicing process, and to ensure that Vattenfall perform their obligations under the various contracts.
Competencies and Skills
We will be putting a lot of weight on the interpersonal skills and key competencies as set out below. However, due to the seniority of the role, we do expect that the successful candidate to already be able to demonstrate a good level of understanding of:
Contract law (ideally construction contracts - e.g. FIDIC, NEC, JCT, UAV-GC, ABT-06, AB-04), and
Best practice contract management (in particular focusing on claims and variation management).
Within Project Delivery we are looking for honest and open individuals with a positive mindset who are able to work in a team and build strong relationships. We hope to find someone who is proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and learning. Since we work across several countries, good command of the English language (both verbally and written) is important and so is excellent communication skills and ability to lead and influence others.

Commercial Acumen - demonstrating commercial awareness and understanding in identifying opportunities and risks, taking financial consequences of proposals into account
Integrity - adherence to the standards, values and rules of conduct associated with one's position and the culture in which one operates, guarding sensitive information, making sure that colleagues displaying unethical behaviour are corrected
