aspiration with sound scientific evidence, by providing evidence that will
enable AstraZeneca to be the industry leader in achieving market access at
optimal price. We are now looking for a suitable candidate for our global
HEOR team based in Sweden, a specialist in the field of health related quality
of life and other patient reported outcomes (PROs). The arena HEOR
Sweden is part of Global Clinical R&D. We collaborate and interact with the
other departments of Global HEOR, located UK and USA. We also work closely with
our colleagues in Global Marketing. HEOR research scientists are responsible
for carrying out national and international research. Our aim is to demonstrate
evidence that supports the value of AstraZeneca's products by showing the
benefits gained in addition to quality, safety and efficacy benefits. It is
a global environment with intense global contacts, work that involves
travelling. Part of the work involves improving routines, scientific methods and
techniques that is going on within AstraZeneca. Preferred location in
Sweden is Lund. Södertälje or Mölndal could be under consideration.
Depending on the qualifications of the candidates the vacant position is
either titled HEOR Scientist or Senior HEOR Scientist. The role You
will ensure timely and accurate selection of patient reported outcomes (PROs) in
drug development projects. Assess the psychometric qualities of questionnaires
and instruments in the scientific areas of health related quality of life,
burden of disease, functional assessment, symptoms and satisfaction. You
will be a part of teams that design clinical trials and manage collection,
analysis, reporting and presentation of data. You will write relevant
sections of Protocols, Case Report Forms and Clinical Study Reports,present
study results in articles, posters and oral presentations for a variety of
groups and stake holders. Work with external consulting companies and
organisations and provide scientific support to local marketing companies as
well as to the global marketing organisation. In some cases the work involves
leading the development of new instruments. Minimum
experience/requirements You have a minimum of a Master's degree and
experience in research methodology with emphasis on psychology, health science
research, nursing, epidemiology, medicine, or the equivalent. Preferably a
doctoral research degree in one of these areas. You have a minimum of three
years experience from this type of role. You should have practical experience
and have a very good understanding of how health related quality of life
instruments and other PROs are developed and how they can be used in clinical
practise and research. Experience from the pharmaceutical industry is an
advantage, in particular in the areas of PRO research. It is essential that
you have excellent skills in the English language, both in speaking and in
writing. Preferred experience/requirements You need to be
collaborative, like to take on responsibility, have excellent interpersonal
skills, like to work in a team, be a good communicator, creative,
business-oriented and have a well-developed conceptual thinking. As there will
be periods of intense work and work that requires proactivity, it is important
that you are able to manage working under pressure, prioritise and to work
