The division also includes wood supply operations in Finland, Sweden, Russia and the Baltic countries. The division's key focus areas are sustainable forest management, competitive wood supply to Stora Enso's mills and innovation. As a major player in the bioeconomy, access to wood is critical for Stora Enso. Today, Stora Enso is one of the biggest private forest owners in the world.

Safety Director, Forest division

Description
We are looking for senior safety leader to drive and develop safety culture and our safety agenda in the newly established Forest division. You will work closely with division leadership and Safety Managers of each business unit to ensure the implementation of the division safety agenda and be an active member of the Stora Enso group safety management team.
The focus of your work is to facilitate and steer the development of the Forest division safety culture in a constructive way. You will define and implement a divisional common safety agenda, that considers organizational leadership, competence, process and tool -aspects and execute action plans to meet the targets of safety strategy and contribute to wellbeing. You will enable best practice sharing between the units in order to lift the safety of all our units to the best possible level.
Our safety agenda is evolving all the time as an integral part of our business and you should be updated and benchmark world class safety practices. In this role you will be working closely with stakeholders in the division and ensure safety integration within division contractor management model as well as quality and delivery of the division safety reporting and KPI 's.

Qualifications
In order to succeed in this role you should have a strong track record from successful change processes with strong leadership focus. You have done university level studies and have more than 10 years' working experience in safety in industrial context. You should have previous experience in managing OHS in multinational and -cultural environment and be able to balance accountability and safety governance, discipline and culture. Knowledge of Management System Standards (such as ISO 45001 or OHSAS 18001) is a benefit as well as experience of contractor management from safety perspective.
Your working language will be English, and you should have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English, skills in Swedish, Finnish or Russian are considered a plus. In addition to your experience we put high emphasis on your personal qualities. We value persistency for driving results systematically and getting things done. You should be cooperative and have the ability to involve and coach people on different levels in the organization. You can take a holistic view of safety aspects in a manufacturing company including full supply chain, and transfer the strategic goals to understandable and measurable actions on how world class safety culture looks like in daily behavior.
In this position you will report to SVP Human Resources, Forest Division, with dotted line to group Head of Safety. You work in close collaboration with our four business units and Forest division leadership team. Location would preferably be Stockholm, Helsinki, Falun, Imatra or one of our other key locations. The position requires traveling.
