We are looking for smart, knowledgeable, and creative people to strengthen our efforts in the ongoing 5G standardization. We work together in tight and diverse teams to define and realize new capabilities for the mobile networks, which are used by billions of people worldwide. This includes further increasing the network performance we experience today with our smartphones and tablets, but also improving the networks' support for the digital transformation of industries and societies. For the latter, we design optimized connectivity solutions for billions of new devices and things, which enable completely new uses of the mobile networks and will create immense societal value.
In our unit at Ericsson Research, Network Architecture and Protocols, we have the mission to develop and drive best-in-class procedures, protocols and architecture solutions for current and future mobile systems spanning the radio, core, and transport networks, and in our Network Control and Management area we focus on control, orchestration, and AI-driven automation of mobile network functions and resources to secure end-to-end network performance.
As a researcher in 5G standardization, you will participate in advanced research project teams developing new concepts and solutions for 5G networks. You will develop end-to-end control and automation architectures for virtualized network functions and templates for automated deployment to enable service orchestration of 5G use cases. In this area you will innovate and invent new concepts and evaluate their feasibility and performance by implementing and demonstrating the concepts in our state-of-the-art tools, which include cloud native and high-performance testbeds as well as mobile network simulators. You will be involved in international standardization in 3GPP, either as a delegate attending the standardization meetings, or by supporting delegates. You will also work with specifications and software from other external and open standardization groups. You will protect your ideas in patents.
