Are you interested in working in an international setting with people from diverse backgrounds to tackle major environmental and sustainability challenges? SEI HQ is looking for an enthusiastic person with the expertise in analysis, development, and implementation of environmental policies. The successful candidate will join our Environmental Policy and Strategy Team as a research associate/team officer. The research associate is expected to support team efforts in Easter Partnership countries, primarily focusing on research and policy analysis, as well as new project proposal development.
Key duties and responsibilities include
Leads and/or supports research and policy analysis in Eastern Partnership countries
Support EPS team in the preparation of project proposals (financial, narrative and other documentation)
Prepares all related background materials for discussions, correspondence and briefing sessions
Coordinates the compiling and editing of reports, meeting notes and minutes
Supports/leads meeting, workshops, webinar design, planning and implementation (schedules, content and logistics)
Supports the overall EPS team strategy and action plan implementation
Who you are:
Experience and Knowledge:
A relevant academic degree and relevant working experience of at least 3 years in: international development; political economy; international policy and affairs; public policy and governance; environment, climate and energy management and research
Proven experience in project management (including administrative, logistics, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting)
Experience in drafting documents, such as terms of reference, proposals, agreements and reports, policy papers, etc.
Proficiency in English and Russian languages
Experience working in multi-disciplinary diverse teams, including teams comprising of researchers, technical roles and practitioners
Ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity, the ability to deal with people from a variety of backgrounds
Good user skills of MS Office software
Knowledge of EU environment-related policies (e.g., Green Deal) and the EU initiatives (e.g., E5P, EU4Energy Programme) supporting sustainable transitions in Eastern Partnership countries is an advantage
Experience working with post-Soviet Union countries is an advantage
Experience in successful fundraising is an advantage
