hela Sverige We are looking for a research assistant (amanuens) in psychology for a fixed-term position at the School of Behavioural, Social and Legal Sciences
Background
The division of psychology at Örebro University is part of the School of Behavioural, Social and Legal Sciences, together with the division of legal science, criminology and social work. Within the division of psychology, education is provided at basic-, advanced-, and postgraduate-level. At basic- and advanced-levels, we offer freestanding courses up to bachelor's level, as well as a five-year professional psychologist program.
We are now looking for a research assistant who will involve in management, coordination of the field work and data collection within the "PIA Project". The PIA project is a six-year project that aims to develop interventions to promote adjustment and integration of newly arrived young people and families. The project is run by researchers from Örebro University, Karolinska Institutet, Umeå University and the Nordic Institute of Public Health (PIAProjekt in Swedish, PIAProject in English).
Duties and responsibilities
The research assistants will work together with the project secretary and the project leader to organize the project, contact municipalities and schools, recruit participants and coordinate the field work and data collection. The task will also include contributing to the planning and execution of the training sessions organized by the project team, helping development of the project material, managing field work, data collection, and helping with data management work.
Qualifications
To qualify for appointment as a project assistant, you need to be admitted to a first- or second-cycle course or study programme (bachelor's or master's level). It is also an advantage if you study or have studied psychology, social work, or another social science discipline.
The person we are looking for have demonstrated interest in research and developing research skills. We attach great importance to your personal qualities, such as the ability to work independently, strong teamwork skills, openness to feedback, flexibility, problem solving skills, and ability to prioritise among tasks.
The PIA Project target newly arrived refugee and immigrant youth and families. Thus, experience of working with immigrant and refugee youth, and ability to speak another language would be an advantage (i.e., Arabic, Dari, Kurdish (Kurmanji), Persian, Somalian, Tigrinya). In addition, the successful candidate is expected to have excellent speaking and writing skills in both Swedish and English.

This is a part-time position (50%) for 5 months. At Örebro University, salary is determined in accordance with our local collective agreement.
