center within ABB and have world-class competence supporting the innovation
in both power and automation technologies. Our multicultural research center
consists of approximately 250 scientists from 45 different countries.
Tasks
Seize this opportunity to challenge your management skills and contribute to the development of next generation?s industrial research. As Team Manager you will lead a team of nearly 20 skilled and engaged research and development scientists. We execute a variety of international projects involving multi disciplinary teams of experts. Our main focuses are in machine design and optimization, drive control and interaction analysis, as well as machine embedded converts and drivetrain integration. Your mission will be to identify and develop our R&D strategy, new concepts, technologies, technology platforms and intellectual property, as well as develop our team through managing our people, competence and lab infrastructure. Other parts of your responsibilities will be to:
• perform technology development within machine design and drive control
• manage and coordinate team resources in alignment with strategic directions
• monitor the execution of all R&D projects and ensure on-time completion and high quality results
• enhance cross collaboration with teams and external partners and secure the commitment from key stakeholders for strategic directions
• adhere to ABB integrity and compliance policies

Requirements
You hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering combined with at least five years? working experience, preferably in project and/or people management. It is also highly valuable if you have over three years experience in R&D managerial role. Furthermore, you have strong technical and scientific knowledge of machine physics and new topology, 2D and 3D modelling and simulation, machine design and optimization. If you have an understanding in drive control and machine drive interaction, it is a plus. Fluency in English is a must, written and spoken alike.
