We are looking for an R&D Projects and Portfolio leader to work with our expert Imaging and Western Blotting Consumables (I&WBC) business. They will drive execution of projects including hardware, software and consumables products and help to structure ways of working within our group, ensuring accurate reporting and resource allocation working within a tightknit multidisciplinary team.

What you'll do
Lead, coach & grow a great team of highly skilled scientists able to support the business in its ambitious goals. Ensure the competencies and skill sets within the team are matched to the needs of the product portfolio, ensure the team maintains adequate and appropriate external focus, by developing and maintaining external networks in support of the technology and product aspirations and needs of the business. Accountable for technical leadership and coaching in the execution of required programs and staff leadership of the team based out of Uppsala, Sweden.
Overall I&WBC R&D portfolio & Program management, responsibility for the planning, costing and delivery of New Product Introductions, support and innovation projects to required time, budget and quality requirements. Executing the portfolio together with the business partners and finance.
Provide resource support for the rest of the organization. Support customer discussions and work hand in hand with other functions such as manufacturing, quality or sourcing to overcome challenges & lead improvement projects.
Ensure quality and efficiency are secured throughout the work, for instance by embedding and utilizing DBS / Lean concepts within the processes. Naturalise Design for manufacturability within ways of working. Ensure standard processes, ways of working, guidelines are followed within the team.
Leading program activities for I&WB with responsibility for timely execution within budget and in compliance with Quality procedures.
Working closely with Business Leader & Product Management team to drive product direction and resolve issues.
Defining, managing and optimizing project plans, product/project risk, project budgets, and resources/task assignments to meet business goals.
Project Manage key projects and a great team of highly skilled scientists able to support the business.
Lead technology innovation and proactively explore new technologies to help the customer workflows & lead them to new services and product introductions. Drive rigorous development, tracking and execution of the overall I&WBC roadmap. Drive more value in the portfolio.
Maintaining a professional rhythm within both R&D and cross functional groups to deliver on the projects.
Reporting and tracking project resources and budget allocation.
Ensuring compliance with Product Lifecycle Process/Design History File (DHF) and other Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Effectively communicate across functional departments and provide periodic stakeholder communications and escalating concerns and issues as necessary
Who you are
Experience in the protein analysis and characterization areas either leading or as a proven key contributor.
Previous & demonstrated experience of people management, coaching and people development.
Experience of cross functional collaboration with Supply Chain, Marketing, EHS, QA etc to deliver results. Experience of operating in a global environment with local interfaces. Ability to influence and collaborate across organizations and with a senior-level management team. Experience in managing cross functional projects
Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-changing environment; Ability to Project Manage and coach high performing teams; Change agent with energy, passion and enthusiasm to drive change
Demonstrated ability to bring forward innovation projects and core R&D responsibilities, able to collaborate and influence across a CTO organisation to deliver Cytiva R&D targets.
Demonstrated ability for planning and costing R&D activities and interfacing with Finance and Business Partners to secure alignment.
PhD or equivalent qualification in the Life Sciences area, PMP or equivalent project management skills. Experience as a project manager within R&D plus relevant experience of managing teams in a global environment
