We are the largest research center within ABB with World class expertise and state-of-the-art resources to support innovation in the areas of Power Technology and Automation. Our multicultural Research Center consists of approximately 250 scientists from 45 different countries.
Efficiency, robustness and reliability are some of the key factors driving development in the field of control of electrical machines. As a part of Machines & Drives team at the ABB Corporate Research in Sweden, you will be working closely with colleagues on theoretical investigation and experimental verification of the next generation of control strategies applied in electric drives. You will be developing advanced modulation techniques for low-voltage drive topologies. You will be engaged with drivetrain integration in the applications that extend from general purpose motors and renewable generation to robotics and traction.
As a part of ABB Corporate Research, you will work in a dynamic, motivated and creative team with wide range of experience and competence and access to highly advanced laboratory facilities. You have a PhD degree or several years of relevant work experience in the field of Electric Drive Control. Your background has provided you with theoretical understanding of electric drives and control theory. You shall have a solid background in modulation technique, simulation and optimization procedures in the field of Electric Drive Control. In addition, you have a practical experience in developing the test setups and conducting experiments. A prior experience in the area of electrical machine design and power electronics is considered to be a valuable strength of the candidate.
You are fluent in English, have excellent communication skills and high capacity for performing several tasks at the same time. You have a prior experience or a potential to develop in a good project leader in a short time.
It is of equal importance that you are a driven person that takes initiative, as well as have excellent time management and organizational skills, enabling you to deliver high quality results on time. You apply a systematic and structured way of working in all of your tasks. You are a good team player with a strong internal drive to succeed. Last but not least, you have a strong interest in technology and operational development.
