hela Sverige Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Scania Purchasing has a global responsibility for purchasing products and services for all of Scania's units, and to some extent also for other brands within the Traton Group. We are currently in a phase of many exiting product development projects, also within the field of electrification. This positions belongs to the area of Powertrain Purchasing with focus on engines, gearboxes and axles.
We are now looking for several sourcing managers to join our teams.
Your responsibilities
As a Project Purchaser within Powertrain Purchasing you will be responsible for optimisation of technology, quality, delivery and cost for parts within new projects. You take an active role in both the pre-development as well as industrialisation projects to find the best technical and commercial solution for Scania.
Focus is on challenging and improving design together with R&D and suppliers to ensure manufacturability & timely implementation of the components in Scania production - while meeting the project targets. You lead the discussion with suppliers all the way from concept development until the start of production. You play a key role in supplier scouting, request for quotations, technical discussions, cost analysis & negotiation, nomination of suppliers as well as in implementation of the parts.
The role entails cross functional work with both R&D, Production and other brands in the Traton Group to reach best possible product quality and cost for the parts within your area of responsibility.
Your profile
We are looking for you with a bachelor or master's degree within business economics, engineering or similar. You have a strong technical and commercial interest, and previous purchasing experience preferably from a technical area. You have a strategic mindset and way of working. You also have a commercial mindset and are skilled and confident in negotiations. To be successful in the role you are able to take own initiative and have the ability to run several parallel assignments in a structured way. You work in a proactive way, have a result and goal oriented mind, and always strive for delivery on time and to the right quality.
As the position involves several interfaces both internally and externally, you are skilled in communicating with others and always aim to promote two-way communication. You are confident when it comes to expressing clear requirements towards others. As a person, you are positive and contribute to good team spirit in the groups you work in, even though the pace of work is sometimes high.
Advanced level in written and spoken English is mandatory, and good knowledge in Swedish is an advantage.
Since the role puts high demand on cross functional work and alignment you appreciate working in a team and work proactively to assist and involve others. We also expect you to have a driver's licence.
We offer
Powertrain Purchasing consists of members with different genders, backgrounds, competences and skills. We have a high team spirit and values doing things together both during and after working hours. We strive for a climate where opinions and knowledge is openly shared within the team without any sense of prestige.
