A Permanent International Secretariat was established in Stockholm in October 1998. The budget of the Secretariat is financed by annual contributions from the CBSS Member States as well as through project funds. The Secretariat is organised in a core team and specialised units. Currently there are 25 employees at the Secretariat. Additional information about the CBSS is available on
www.cbss.org. The Secretariat's work is guided by the three long-term priorities of the Council - Regional Identity; Sustainable & Prosperous Region and Safe & Secure Region. Job description CBSS is looking for a Project Administrator / Financial Assistant to assist in maintaining day to day financial, accounting and administrative services including assisting with preparation of financial statements, maintaining accounts payable and receivables.Reporting to the Head of Administration, your workday offers various tasks and responsibilities including: Administration of projects Assistance in general finance and accountingAccounts receivableAccounts payable Other related responsibilities as required or assigned The job description is intended to describe the general nature of the work being performed by the incumbent of this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and activities required of the position. The incumbent is expected to have both strong technical capacity and interpersonal communication skills, and to work in close collaboration with all staff members of the CBSS Secretariat. Selection Criteria The ideal candidate will have the following profile: Degree/Diploma in business, accounting, finance or related field.Relevant work experience in the related field.Knowledge of project financial management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.Experience of reporting to different funding mechanisms (e.g. European Social Fund (ESF), INTEREG, European Commission, Swedish Institute)Advanced computer skills, knowledge of spreadsheets and computerised accounting systemsExcellent spoken and written English, working knowledge of Swedish is necessaryAbility to manage, organise and coordinate multiple workflows and work independently and to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.Ability to recognise problems early and to take appropriate, immediate and persistent action to resolve themGood interpersonal skills including the ability to create and maintain good working relationships internally and externally Terms of employmentThis vacancy is subject to local recruitment, i.e. it is open to candidates with a valid work permit in Sweden and currently residing within the Stockholm commuting area. The Project Administrator /Financial Assistant will be appointed for a period of 1.5 years with the possibility of prolongation depending on funding. The first 6 months shall be a probationary period.The place of employment is Stockholm.
