The Institute of Odontology is a clinical department responsible for graduate and undergraduate teaching of odontology and research in the subject field odontology.
SPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: Oral Prosthetics is a key subject in dentistry. The subject area concerns all oral rehabilitation procedures, including implant treatment, to compensate for the loss of teeth or tooth substance. JOB
ASSIGNMENTS: Research primarily in biomaterials and dental implants with a focus on implant prosthetics, secondarily in other parts of the subject area. Teaching in oral prosthetics and supervision of undergraduate students on the dentist and dental technician programs, course administration and examinations on the dentist program. Teaching in postgraduate education and supervision within the scientific area. The position involves participation in the Institute 's administrative tasks. Clinical service is not applicable.
ELIGIBILITY: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Demonstrated scientific and pedagogical skills. Qualification as a registered dentist and specialist in prosthodontics.
ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Primarliy scientific and teaching skills. Secondarily administrative skills, thirdly clinical skills and in addition ability to cooperate. In the assessment of scientific skills, special importance will be attached to the ability to obtain external funding. The successful candidate may be asked to complete an educational training program within the first year of employment.
