Location: Bromma Office at Bio-Works Sweden AB
Background Information:
Bio-Works is a young company, specialising in the research, development, production and sale of agarose based separations products for the life science, food, beverage and environmental markets, with its head office in Hong Kong, and R&D and production located in Bio-Works Sweden AB located in Bromma, Sweden (www.bio-works.net). Our main products are agarose beads derivatised with a variety of different chemistries. Their principal use is in the purification of proteins, the isolation and purification of food ingredients or the removal of heavy metals from water. The products are offered either in bulk or pre-packed into columns ready for use.
To support our growth, we are now recruiting a Chemical Engineer or equivalent for our facility in Bromma, Stockholm. The role will be operationally focused on day to day production of beads and column packing, progressively taking on more direct responsibility, transferring production methods for new product into production.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the production of Bio-Works products according to standard procedures, agreed volumes, specifications, costs and timelines
• Maintain appropriate stocks of production chemicals, materials and components
• Contribute to improvements and enhancements in production and logistics systems and processes
• Schedule and arrange maintenance on production systems as necessary
• Participate in process development and process improvements together with R&D
Training:
The candidate will most likely have a background and training in chemistry or chemical engineering with experience from production or process development in small and middle size companies. As the company operates globally with staff located in many countries good command of English is required
Qualifications
• Minimum qualification is a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar
Experience
• 2 years or more experience in either a production or process development role in a chemicals business
Skills
• Familiar with chemical production processes and production engineering
• Be up to date with EHS guidelines, rules and regulations

• Team worker with good communication skills, able to become part of a small team now, but with the ability to become a leader as the company grows.
• Hard working, self motivated and truly "hands-on" individual able to operate independently when necessary.
• Able to meet deadlines under time and resources pressures
• Flexible and adaptable
