Are you eager to find data related opportunities and help mitigating pain points and help increasing accuracy in important decision making, while at the same time coming to completion with previous tasks? Are you thriving when working in a small and agile team?
Data and data-driven development and decision making is rapidly maturing and making more and more advances into our industry. Volvo Group is not an exception, and we are now looking for you who want to work with enhancing our development operations and services with data analytics and data insights! Are you an innovative and committed person who wants to join us in this endeavor? Together we drive the data transformation. By joining us, you'll be part of a global and diverse team of highly skilled professionals who work with passion, trust each other, and embrace change to stay ahead. We make our customers win.
About the role:
We are a relatively new team with the mission to drive our analytics journey with the aim of making the organization become more proficient in using data and creating insights - to become more data-driven. We do that by understanding the pain points at hand and engage in the necessary data engineering and science efforts.
As a product lead you will stay in tight contact with the team's stakeholders and continuously keep the backlog updated and broken down to meet their expectations. This includes leading the team's PI planning and demo sessions, managing risks, promoting best practice and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will also be responsible for the team roadmap and strategies and work tightly with other experts in the field to make sure that the team deliveries are up to date with the latest technological developments and meet business strategic goals. In addition to the above, you will also need to engage in technical data engineering/science/analyst work, such as finding adequate data, developing necessary pipelines and visualizing the result in a pedagogic and comprehensible format that allows for drawing the right conclusions.
Welcome to an exciting role, where you will have the opportunity to shape the future.
More information about the role:
You will be part of a team that will spearhead the use of data analytics into our development and decision processes.
You work in an agile manner with a focus on showcasing implemented results.
You interact with other development teams to understand their painpoints better than they do themselves.
Who are you?
You are someone with a curious and strategic mindset on the future while staying in touch with today's challenges. You are a responsible team player who engages your team and likes to collaborate to meet the expectations of our stakeholders on our deliveries. You see opportunities and are ready to take the initiative and act on them. You never say no at first - you try things out before deciding if something works or doesn't work. While staying rooted in data engineering, data analytics and software development, you are flexible in working with a variety of tasks in different application areas.
Requirements:
At least an MSc in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics or similar
You have an eye for making sense of data to others
Proficiency in software development and database querying, in particular Python and SQL
Experience of working with large datasets on data platforms and systems, such as DataBricks and PowerBI
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
You are a people's person who loves to collaborate and build relationships.
Desired skills and experience:
Familiarity of working with SQL servers, Cloud environments or Hadoop clusters
Familiarity with Parquet files, XML schemas, SQL tables and other common data formats
