Thermo-Calc Software develops and markets powerful tools and expertise for technical calculations where thermodynamics and kinetics play an essential role. Our simulation tools are widely used within research and development by commercial companies, Government and non-profit institutes and universities in more than 60 countries. Thermo-Calc Software was established in 1997, and today we employee 21 staff in Stockholm, Sweden and two staff in Pittsburgh, USA.
This position involve work in the development of CALPHAD type databases for thermodynamic and kinetic calculations to be used with our own software products, i.e. Thermo-Calc and DICTRA.
The candidate should have:
Ph.D. in material science or similar, or alternatively a masters degree with experience in the CALPHAD and computational materials science and engineering field.
Good knowledge of, and experience in using the Thermo-Calc and DICTRA software packages.
Good experience (and a track record) in CALPHAD type modeling and assessments.
Experience of ab initio methods and calculations is desirable, but not a requirement.
Programming knowledge is also positive but not a requirement.
The candidate should be self-directed, used to working independently and be capable of handling parallel tasks issued by different assigners. The candidate should be outgoing, show initiative and enterprise with a structured way of working and great ability to collaborate with other people. The candidate must have a good command of the English language.
