All psychiatric research at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet is carried out within Center for Psychiatric Research (CPF).
CPF is a collaborative organization between Stockholm County Medical Area and Karolinska Institutet. You will become a team member of the Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive, and Related Disorders research group at CPF, and will be part of an engaging and international research environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to high quality research at international top level.
Your mission
The successful candidate will be responsible for a new clinical research project which aims to develop and test a novel lifestyle intervention to reduce cardiometabolic risk in individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder. The project has been recently funded by the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (FORTE). The project is led by Dr Lorena Fernández de la Cruz, Senior Researcher at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet.
The successful candidate will be the primary coordinator for the project. The tasks will include: 1) coordination, planning, and responsibility for the day-to-day aspects of the project; 2) finalizing the design of the intervention and corresponding intervention protocol - in collaboration with the relevant patient organization (Svenska OCD-förbundet) and other research collaborators; 3) applying for ethical approval and trial registration; 4) advertisement of the trial; 5) participant recruitment and enrolment; 6) delivery of the intervention (only if the postdoc has a clinical profile); 7) data analysis and interpretation of results; and 8) dissemination of the research outcomes both in scientific (e.g., peer-reviewed articles, national and international conferences) and non-scientific settings.
We initially offer a full or part-time position for one year.
Your profile
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Full professional competence in both English and Swedish is required. Proficiency in the writing of scientific texts is essential.
Ideally, the postdoc should have a clinical background and have experience in project coordination. Experience in behavioural interventions and behaviour change research will be highly valued, as it will be experience in lifestyle interventions. Familiarity with statistical analyses and statistical programs is desirable. Particular emphasis will be placed on evaluating your academic skills, as demonstrated through your publication record and the relevance of your prior research for the current project.
The candidate should also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to take responsibility for their own tasks. They should be able to take initiative and be flexible to manage different tasks effectively and ensure that project goals are consistently met.
