The clinical studies are based on our unique longitudinal cohort, "The Sahlgrenska Academy Study on Ischemic Stroke" (SAHLSIS) and we also collaborate with several national and international research groups. Responsibilities include the study of biomarkers, both at the protein and DNA level, in relation to the subtypes of ischemic stroke and outcome after stroke. The genetic analyses include "Genome wide association studies" (GWAS), "rare variant analyses", sequencing and epigenetic analyses. Protein assays are often performed using multiplex techniques. As such, responsibilities include the management of very large data sets. The experimental studies are focused on functional studies using molecular genetic techniques. The position includes 10% teaching.
