The research at the Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation research is focused on inflammatory diseases, ranging from basic research and animal models to clinical research and rehabilitation.

The Phagocyte Research Group at the department is doing research primarily on the biology and function of phagocytic white blood cells, and how these cells affect inflammatory processes in disease states such as rheumatic diseases,
autoinflammatory diseases and infectious diseases. The group has around 15 members organized in three subgroups.

The research goup of professor Anna Karlsson-Bengtsson is now recruiting a post-doc within the project of "Neutrophil Glycobiology".
