acitivity covers a wide range of disciplines, spanning over
agriculture, food and biotechnology to natural resources, environment of landscape planning. Most ofour departments are locatedin Uppsala, 65 km north of Stockholm.
We are searching for a dynamic post doctoral researcher for a joint 2-year position between the Department of microbiology at SLU in Uppsala, Sweden and Soil and Environmental Microbiology at INRA in Dijon, France. The project focuses on the ecology of denitrifying communities to address fundamental questions regarding their ecology. The objective is to understand underlying ecological processes structuring denitrifier communities and their
role in ecosystem functioning, such as nutrient cycling, N-losses and greenhouse gas emissions. The successful candidate will work both in Uppsala and Dijon and is expected to spend half of the time at each place. The project is part of the large collaborative project
EcoFINDERS within the 7th framework program and engages 22 partners within Europe.
Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a background in ecology of nitrogen cycling microbial communities. Demonstrated knowledge in molecular methods,
multivariate statistics and bioinformatics within the field of microbial ecology is required. Selection among applicants meeting the requirements is made with reference to written application including curriculum vitae, copies of degrees and transcripts of academic records, one copy of the PhD thesis, relevant track record demonstrated by a list of publications, at least two references familiar with the applicant's qualifications, certified knowledge of the English language and an interview. To be appointed as a postdoc, applicant should have been awarded her/his PhD no more than three years ago at the time of application.
