Pharmaceutical Sciences is a CMC organisation within AstraZeneca's Biopharmaceuticals R&D division working in the Early Portfolio and accountable for the design and development of synthetic routes, preclinical and phase I/II formulations, encompassing both small molecules and new modalities, across the whole range of AstraZeneca 's therapeutic areas.


Accountabilities:

As a Portfolio Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting project teams, Project Leaders, and TA Heads of all three TA areas (Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism; Oncology and Respiratory & Immunology) to deliver upon their project and financial targets. You will ensure customer needs are met and maintain trust in the Project Plan and Forecast. You will also develop and maintain processes and technology required to effectively manage a portfolio of projects, ensure scientific projects are delivered to time, quality, budget, project standards, company quality standards, and align with AstraZeneca's strategy.

In this role you will also:

* Act as a source of knowledge in area of expertise, defining, communicating, and implementing project management strategy.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through both changes in ways of working & applying digital technologies.
* Be open to change: representing PharmSci on wider change initiatives & building new collaboratives relationship with stakeholders.

Essential Skills/Experience:

* Highly organized and able to work independently on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as analytical skills
* Good knowledge of and experience in information management as a discipline
* BA/BS in science or engineering discipline or equivalent technical work experience
* High level knowledge of the overall pharmaceutical drug development process
* Experience in working on a cross-functional team in a matrix organization
* Knowledge and proven experience of project management as a discipline
* Preferred experience in use of enterprise-wide pharmaceutical project management software solutions - e.g. Planisware

Desirable Skills/Experience:

* Understanding of financial and resource planning systems and processes
* Detailed understanding & knowledge of CMC
* A project management qualification (e.g. APMP/PMP/PMQ)
