We are now looking to hire a Patient Safety Physician or an Associated Patient Safety Physician within the Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM) area, to our site in Gothenburg, Sweden.
As a Patient Safety Physician/Associated Patient Safety Physician in the Global Medicines Development (GMD) within AstraZeneca, you will play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. GMD drives late-stage development of our innovative pipeline, transforming exciting science into valued new medicines and ensuring patients around the world can access them.
AstraZeneca's strategy in CVRM focuses on ways to reduce morbidity, mortality and organ damage by addressing multiple risk factors across cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic kidney-disease indications.
You will be responsible for providing medical expertise regarding the safety profile of their product(s) and its disease area while representing the patient and Health Authority perspective. This involves working closely together with global colleagues both from within the Patient Safety Department as well as other groups in AZ. Your key tasks will include using medical judgment to understand case histories, reviewing safety data in various formats to determine any findings of potential importance, helping identify, communicate and manage safety risks and providing a Patient Safety position in meetings and documents.
Minimum Requirements
* Medical Degree.
* Experience from pharmaceutical industry R&D work.
* Team player with strong collaboration skills
Desirable Requirements
* Working knowledge of and respect for Health Authority regulations and Good Clinical Practice Standards
* Additional post-graduate training (e.g. MPH, PhD, etc.)
* Working knowledge of practices governing expedited and periodic safety reporting, signal generation, safety evaluation and risk management activities
* Board certification in a relevant clinical specialty such as diabetology, endocrinology, internal medicine, cardiology, nephrology, anesthesiology or other relevant specialty
