During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group's global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several "on-the-job" rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.
Our organization:
GTO International Manufacturing (IM) focus is to support the Sales & Marketing organization by being present with assembly operations in the local market when required, due to local country legislation. We operate four fully owned Volvo plants in South Africa, India and Australia and Joint Ventures in Saudi Arabia and Algeria. We also support truck assembly in Africa, South America and Asia in ten more plants together with Private Partners.
The parts to assemble the trucks are provided in kits (CKD), in close cooperation with the sending plants in Sweden, France, Thailand, Japan and in US. Our ultimate task is to supply the local markets with the right number of trucks at promised delivery date meeting our customer's high expectations. Our manufacturing organization is assembling trucks of Volvo, Renault, Mack and UD brands.
We have support functions located in Göteborg, Umeå, Lyon, Bangkok and Ageo in order to provide support and competence to the local plants in each market.

The Logistics Development team is responsible to develop the IM Supply Chain in Product and Process projects. You will improve performance of the supply chain according to project objectives and Road Maps and represent our organization in various networks within the Production Logistics organization.
The team of Logistics Development and Project managers are located in Bangalore, Göteborg, Lyon and Ageo and you will be based in Göteborg. Main activities and responsibilities:
The Logistics Development engineer is responsible to develop various parts of the International Manufacturing (IM) Supply Chain in Product and Process improvement activities you will improve performance of IM flows according to project objectives and Road Maps.
Most projects you will be part of involves other functions in Volvo, so reaching out to, and working together with people in our many sites across the globe will become an everyday task. This role will give you the opportunity to see many interesting and exciting places in the world.
Who are you?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A M.Sc. in engineering, business administration or logistics
Knowledge of principles in Lean Logistics and Manufacturing
Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Skills in Swedish and French is advantageous
To be a communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in
A talent for cultural integration, preferable with international and multi-cultural experience
Valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen
