hela Sverige As a Specialist in Non Destructive Technology area you will work with developing solutions in the Ultrasonic and Eddy current technology areas. The solutions will be spread in the different SKF factories. You will be responsible to monitor the relevant technology trends and transform them into opportunities for SKF. One way of influence is to work with Universities and Institutes. Strong interaction and communication with internal stakeholders will be needed.
Job responsibilities
• Development of non-destructive testing/evaluation methods (UT & ET) and equipment in the SKF Group
• NDT Technical support in discussions with equipment contractors/integrators
• On-site NDT verification/validation in SKF factories and at equipment suppliers
• To keep aware of technology trends and external developments and translate new ideas into opportunities for the SKF Group.
The person should have professional experience from non-destructive testing/evaluation processes and especially Ultrasonic evaluation. The person should be highly motivated to work with the technology development both in an R&D and a factory environment.
Job requirements
• Master degree in mechanical engineering or physics or equivalent knowledge gained by experience
• Experience in Ultrasonic technologies and preferable Eddy Current technologies
• Knowledge in Phased array is an advantage
• Experience in Method Validation and test setup
• Relevant work experience within the manufacturing industry
• Knowledge in steel metallography is an advantage
• Good writing, documentation and communication skills
• A self-motivated, organised, proactive team player
• Good ability to speak and write in English
• Willingness to travel and to work abroad on short assignments
The SKF Group Manufacturing Development Centre (MDC) is the central research and development facility for manufacturing processes and quality technology used in SKF. With 75 employees of various nationalities its role is to reinforce SKF's technical leadership in manufacturing and processing of rolling bearings and related products. Quality Technology (QT) belonging to MDC has the mission to develop and standardize the quality assurance solutions within SKF. One of the focus areas is to develop and spread new technologies in the Non-destructive Technology (NDT) area within the SKF factories.
The position holder will report to Manager QT Gothenburg, and will be located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
