The GSM Base Station SW organization is a small and stable organization with a big responsibility due to the large number of installed base stations in more than 170 countries. We co-operate with both 3G/WCDMA and 4G/LTE to develop Ericsson's Multi Standard Common Base Station.
You will play an important role in the continuous development of the GSM Base Station SW and your contribution will have a direct impact on the bottom line. Qualifications
You should have a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Data Communication or equivalent academic degree is required.
You should also have:
• fluency in English - both written and spoken - is essential
• a strong drive for results and the willingness to take initiatives
• a strong team player with excellent communication skills
We are searching for candidates in the following functions;
System Design - Working as system engineer you will develop system solutions for GSM.
You will be working in the two areas Operation and Maintenance and Radio software. You will system design features and functionality within these areas in mainly the early phases of a project, but you will also be involved in all the phases of a project, i.e. pre-study, feasibility, execution and verification. This implicates a lot of contacts with other parts within the company to analyze, understand, develop and drive technical solutions. The job consists of analytical work in teams as well as work with documents and system design tools.
Sub-system verification- As a verification engineer you need to design, set-up and handle the test environment. Your daily work will involve test analysis, preparing test scenarios, writing test cases, performing tests, automation of test cases, evaluating test results and troubleshooting faults. Test verification work is done directly on GSM base stations. Close co-operation with both system design, SW design and system verification is required.
Qualification vital for this position is:
• a genuine interest and knowledge in C-programming
Your personality
You have a genuine interest in technology and want to be the best in your area of expertise but you are also curious to understand the big picture and how a mobile network works. You are enthusiastic and take full ownership of your tasks, especially when they are really challenging. At the same time as you are a self-starter who can take the initiative and work independently, you also need to be an effective team player. Working towards deadlines and be focused on results and quality is essential. We want someone who is open to learning and will share their findings with others.
